What does the $29 contract fee cover on Contra?
With Contra, you can find, hire, manage, and pay contractors in one workspace. It’s free to browse contractors and post jobs. Only pay $29 per one-time project (or $29 per month per contractor for ongoing projects) when you’ve found the perfect contractor for your project.
This fee covers compliant contracts, dispute assistance throughout the project, and commission-free global payments.
How do paid projects work for clients on Contra?
Work with your first contractor for free indefinitely, regardless of the number of projects. From the second contractor onward, pay $29 per contract for one-time services or $29 per month per contractor for ongoing projects.
It’s always free to browse and discover contractors on Contra and to post public or private jobs.
What project types does Contra support?
Contra supports the following project structures:
One-time projects: Best for single projects with a clear start and end date
Ongoing projects: Best for ongoing projects where the end date is undefined
Milestone projects: Best for projects with multiple checkpoints
How do I cancel a project?
Cancellations can be made within your project’s “Actions” dropdown. From there, select “End project” to cancel or dispute the project.
Note that you can only cancel a project if payment has not yet been made. If a payment has been made, you will need to submit a project dispute, which will be reviewed by our support team, where a resolution will be made.
How much does it cost to start a project?
For teams and companies hiring on Contra, starting a project with your first contractor is free. Then, pay $29 per project for a one-time service or $29 per month per contractor for ongoing projects.
Can I only work with contractors already on Contra?
Nope, you can work with contractors on or off Contra. To start a project with a contractor who isn’t yet on Contra, just add their email in your project, and they can sign up for free by verifying their email address. Or, you can share job postings to contractors you already know and invite them to apply on Contra. It’s free for them to get started.
